We’ve collated a list of great restaurants that serve healthy and tasty meals just for you, so healthy eating will never be boring again!

 

Shinkansen

Shinkansen serves up Japanese style cuisine in tasty bowls packed with delicious and fresh ingredients. You can opt for one of their own signature dishes or create your own clean eating lunch. Simply choose one ingredient from their healthy base range, followed by a choice of protein, toppings and sauce.

Prices start from around $14 for a regular bowl. They have two outlets at Raffles Place and Tanjong Plaza but also offer a delivery service from Monday – Friday, 11am -5pm to the following places: Central Business District, Tanjong Pagar, City Hall, Bras Basah, Suntec City and Tiong Bahru.

 

The Lawn

The Lawn allows you to team restaurant grade grilled meats and fish choices with either a salad or rice base and toppings of your choice, and all for a very reasonable price. The benefit is you can fully customise your choice to ensure you keep within your clean eating perimeters. If tasty char-grilled garlic prawns and chicken with fresh herbs sound like the lunch for you, then this is the place to dine.

Prices start from around $16.90 for a create your own option. Delivery is available but check your postcode and delivery time on the website.

 

Rollie Ollie

Sushi lovers take note. The signature rolls served at this pleasant little cafe are simply sensational. You seriously need to try the Heat Wave (tuna) and Bollywood (curried prawn) selections! All made to order in front of you with the freshest and tastiest ingredients. They also offer the Hawaii style poke bowl (seasoned sashimi on a bed of mixed veggies) if you want something a little different.

You can get a set meal for as little as $12.95, which includes soup, salad and half a roll. The Aloha poke bowl costs $11.95. They reside at the Star Vista, Suntec City, and SBF Centre.

 

Sarnies

Nestled deep in the CBD is this delightful sandwich shop, which focuses on providing only the best quality products. So much so, that it cures the bacon in-house and serves only antibiotics and hormone free chicken. Pick wisely from the menu as it also has a pretty tempting bakery selection!

Prices start from $15 for a chicken pesto salad and $15.50 for a tuna sandwich. They are located on Telok Ayer Street.

 

VeganBurg

Sir Paul McCartney’s favourite ‘fast food joint’ gives the term a healthy new meaning. It boasts a 100% plant based menu and is any clean eaters dream. It makes raw food taste so good that even Bill Clinton is a fan.

The menu is full to the brim of nutrient boosting meal ideas. There is currently only one outlet in Singapore at Jalan Eunos.

 

Afterglow

A raw food deli by day and a healthy cocktail bar by night, Afterglow picks the producers it works with carefully so the food and drinks they offer are of the best quality possible.

This speciality vegetarian cafe is located at Keong Saik Road and prices average around $15-$20 for a dish.

 

The Living Cafe

Joined at the hip with holistic wellness centre Balanced Living, The Living Cafe serves up raw and unprocessed organic foods at incredibly affordable prices. There are plenty of mains to be had, but leave some space for dessert; the raw blueberry cheesecake is a must-try.

The Living Cafe is located in Bukit Timah.

 

Real Food

This team of foodies believe we are what we eat. As a result they have created a vegetarian cafe that serves up a menu free from processed ingredients, artificial preservatives and Trans-fat. The menu boasts healthy all-day breakfast options, as well as salads, soups and noodle dishes.

Prices range on average between $8-$12 dollars. The humble biz has now expanded to four locations, including Killiney, South Beach and Square 2.

 

Mahota

Located on level 3 of Kitchener Complex, Mahota prides itself on being a “gathering of goodness”. Here, it’s all about growing good food, serving up good meals and stocking only good ingredients. Pop by for lunch at the kitchen for Italian fusion fare (made with greens and organic free-range meats), or the pantry for an organic cuppa with a slice of coconut cake.

 

Kitchen by Food Rebel

This popular lunchtime resto has a mind-boggling array of gluten-free options. Pop by for brekkie and enjoy a gluten-free free-range omelette with spring onions and mixed herbs, or the hearty buckwheat porridge with gluten-free wholegrain and house-made cashew butter. Gluten-free lunch options include Rebel Buddha Bowls like the chicken protein bowl and the Zoodle Bolognese – a spaghetti-inspired dish that swaps the carbs for shredded zucchini.

You can find them along Stanley Street.

 

Grain Traders

Grain Traders deserves its rep as a popular CBD lunch spot, with 2 outlets at CapitaGreen and 100AM mall.

Come early to nab an indoor spot (the outdoor area is reserved for standing only) for lunch over a customisable healthy bowl, filled with base options like quinoa and super greens, and meats like grilled sirloin steak and seared, marinated tuna. Mains aside, you can also expect to find a wicked cuppa here, along with a selection of healthier pastries.

 

Wheat

For days when we want to eat better without sacrificing on taste, we head to Wheat. The perpetually crowded cafe is big on soba, quinoa brown rice for guilt-free carbs, with well-seasoned proteins like grilled salmon, chicken, swordfish and rare ribeye.

Wheat is located at One Raffles Place and Republic Plaza.

 

Pickleville

Brought to you by the same people behind Sarnie’s, Pickleville is now open in Robinson Road, serving up the working crowd fancy toasts and lunch bowls with DIY options for both. We’d recommend customising your own if you’ve got the time, as the options are seriously delectable. Build your perfect toast from an array of spreads (fermented garlic honey butter, espresso butter and truffle honey anyone?), nut butters and toppings like granola and crushed cashews for a lovely crunch. But for a heartier meal, make your own bowls with pickled vegetables, proteins and greens and grains.
